Waterway trails

These two nature trails, close to the city of Fribourg, offer a great outdoor experience that is both relaxing and educational in a setting, which is not only idyllic but often full of surprises.

Both trails - the lake tour and the three rivers' tour - will take you on a fascinating journey along the waterways of Fribourg. 28 interpretive stops dotted along each route (8 km and 11 km respectively) provide a wealth of valuable information and are sure to awaken your curiosity.

Lake tour
This 8 km tour around Lake Pérolles is the ideal way to discover more about the history and evolution of this lake, its myriad indigenous fauna and flora, as well as its geological and hydrological features. It truly is a journey through both nature and time. Participants, young and old, will enjoy a walk through this secluded spot, a stone's throw away from the historic gates of Fribourg.

Three rivers' tour
This 11km tour covers the three major rivers that flow into Lake Pérolles: the Sarine, Glâne and Gérine. Along the way, you will learn interesting facts about the rivers, including the hidden treasures they contain, and discover more about the surrounding forest and flora.
