![]() The Fri2bike project aims to be the first public bike-sharing scheme aimed specifically at the tourist market. Designed around the principle of human-powered mobility, this self-service network (pedal and electric bikes) offers tourists, day-trippers and local residents an opportunity to explore the canton’s most attractive destinations via bike-friendly paths, roads and trails. The bike hubs are located across 7 Fribourg municipalities and in La Broye vaudoise:
FRIBOURG REGION has developed a free mobile phone application to accompany its innovative new bike-sharing service across several towns. The app features a wide range of signposted biking tours that link the various bike hubs, as well as information on the most interesting attractions to be seen along the way. This web 2.0 application allows users to share their trips, personal favourites and insider tips with friends. Designed like a game, Fri2Bike is a fun alternative to the usual guidebooks and maps, and injects a new lease of life into the region’s tourist attractions and services.
